It's starting to look like I only post to this blog on my birthday. Yesterday's was supposedly significant. 29. The last of the 20s - the end of careless youth, if you will. And wow, I just wasn't careless enough or youth enough. But it's the beginning of something bigger, possibly. So do I think about posting once a year because birthdays are the only time that one reflects and becomes contemplative? It looks that way on TV and in movies. Well, I like to think that I am contemplative all year long or something.
So I'm very happy with my brand spanking new Macbook. A techie at heart, you never would have caught me even considering buying a Mac years ago. That's only scratching the surface of how much I've changed over the past few (oh, I would say about 5) years. Anyway, one of the nifty little applications I've found in Mac OSX is a dictionary that even includes slang. What better to look up today, than the "word" blog? Here it is:
blog |bläg|
noun
a weblog : blogs run by twenty-something Americans with at least an unhealthy interest in computers.
They have also included many derivatives of the word - verbs ( blogged, blogging), nouns: blogger and blogosphere (the world of weblogs) and the plural form, blogs. More interestingly, this leads me to wonder if I don't and can't blog because I simply don't fit the demographic anymore. Hmmm? I'm now at the end (boo-hoo) of the twenty-something part of my life. I am getting old. I'm more used to writing in my little notebook than I am here. Who has the time? I did used to have an unhealthy interest in computers. Do I still? Not sure.
Time for brunch. I love summer. More later.
