Quarterlife

I've been thinking a lot about blogging ever since this "Quarterlife" TV series buzz started going around. For those unfamiliar, "Quarterlife" was a web-series by the Herskovitz/Zwick team (of My So-Called Life and thirtysomething fame) which I found very exciting. NBC announced they would pick it up, aired one episode and subsequently canceled it due to low ratings from that one episode. So I guess we will never really know.

To make a long story short, the main character was a 25-year-old woman blogging (or vlogging?) about herself and her friends, all twenty-somethings going through their quarterlife crises (clever..?!) A lot to consider for me here... Are there any reasons I should be blogging? I have this account here that I look at about once a year. Maybe I should start brand new and erase all the old musings. But they're kind of funny and contrast changes even more.

Over the past year or so, I've been so busy that close friends miss out on significant events and changes in my life. Not that having them read a blog is the most personal means of communication but I do end up having to email friends info about my life. So maybe keeping them in a public journal opens up the lines of communication at least a little.

I feel like I'm just getting out of my quarterlife crisis years. Days go by that I feel anxiety and worry about my life but for the most part the painful quarterlife crisis seems to have passed.

Big change #1: I have accepted a job for next fall, teaching 2nd grade in an international school in China. More information about the what, why, how in a later post.
